When someone you love is going through a rough time, you feel hopeless in that all you can do is be there for them and hope that’s enough. You put everything aside for them, regardless of all your petty dramas, all you’d want is to see a smile on their face again.

Today, I lived through a fairly traumatic experience. I don’t know how I’m supposed to feel. Shock is still wearing off, hours later. But all I can think of is that I’m glad we’re still standing, still breathing, still smiling. Sometimes, when you live through something that shakes you out of the clouds and into reality, you realise the importance of what you have, and start appreciating all you have to be grateful for. It may be the shoes on your feet, the air that you breath or your ability to read this. I think back to everything that I’ve taken for granted and wish I’d taken my own advice earlier. Sometimes, it takes the smallest nudge to realise how lucky you have it in life.

It really bothers me when I hear people say ‘my life is so shit’ when all they’re focusing on is the negative. What about the hot dinners on your table? The clothes on your back? Your designer handbags? Do these things not make you the least bit content? Your life isn’t shit. The most amazing people are those who make the most of the very little they’ve got. It just peeves me to see those who are so fortunate in life to turn around and complain about every imperfection, just because they can. Complaining really gets you no where. Appreciating things do.

So quit being negative. Smile, be happy. Everything in life will fall into place. Like I always say; love life, and it’ll love you back.

For lack of better things to blog about

.

I hate cityrail.

Sydney’s transport system is one of the worst I’ve experienced. With grumpy commuters, poor quality trains, lack of efficiency, trackwork and over occupied carriages, not even in peak hour, either. Oh, not to mention the wonderful smell of body odor that lingers in the air throughout the 1.5 hours of the trip home during peak hours. Yep. Feel sorry for me.

I guess they are doing all they can to improve the quality of public transport services. But with these current conditions, it’s no wonder every time I jump on the carriage, I am hit with tension so thick, I could cut it with a slicer. But hey, it’s totally understandable, if I were at work from 9 to 5 banging my brains out and being mentally abused by my boss, all I’d want is to hop on the train and get home as fast as I possibly could.

Do you know the reason behind why nobody’s perfect?

misskaelovesyou:

It’s because of love. We are all destined to love an imperfect person. Our mission is to fill each other’s emptiness. It’s nice to know the fact that you love someone behind his imperfections. Love bears with all things. No one can hinder and there is no perfect reason why you love a certain person. That’s love. As the saying goes, “to love is not by finding a perfect person. But by learning to see an imperfect person perfectly.”

Guernica, one of Picasso’s most famous paintings. The tragic loss of lives, the unexpected bombing of his beloved home town, Picasso conveys such emotion in his work. For those who don’t know, this painting has always been my favourite. It inspired me to paint from within. Picasso was a genuis.
